The Albion Mark™ Line
Albion Mark Forge™ pieces are the culmination of a vast cross-section
of influences. A huge variety of texts, pictures, museum information and
information exchanges with other craftsmen, collectors and afficianados
have all played a part in directing the development of the swords, tools
and utensils that are being born in the Albion shops.
Every Albion Mark Forge piece is forged, fitted, and finished by hand
and eye, practice and patience. Because of this, each item will always
be an individual piece, never to be exactly duplicated. Each piece will
be individually described and numbered.
Scabbards and grips will also be singular works, created for one piece
alone with the same care and patience, and will be provided en suite with
the sword.
Albion's guarantee - We
are dedicated primarily to the reproduction of the craft of the making
of the swords in the Albion Mark Forge Line, as opposed to the reproduction
of singular documented originals. For us, making things the same way they
were actually constructed, reflected in the tools and technology, remains
the driving force behind our work. We like to think that this allows us
to create swords as individual and "real" as we can make them, in performance,
materials, colors, finishes and textures, to allow the warrior of today
to feel the same when handling one of our pieces as the warriors of the
past felt when carrying and using them.
These pieces are not machine-perfect but have
the character and life that only comes from hours of hand-work and care.
All Albion Mark Forge™ pieces are sold sharp,
unless rebatement is requested by the purchaser (for a small fee). Sharpening
is accomplished through the forging and grinding process and the piece
has what is often described as a "sword edge" that is an integral part
of the blade geometry, not an after-market knife bevel. Swords are presented
in the categories below as they become available on a first-come, first
served basis, with more categories planned for the future:
